New Pictures!

Well the girls turned 4.... 3 months ago and I just got their pictures taken. I have lots of info to catch you up on....but have not decided how much time I am going to dedicate to the blog. I might give it a try with the new school year and see how it goes.

Long time...NO BLOG!

Well it has been a while since I have blogged. I guess I kind of got bored with it. But school has started up again and the first couple of weeks craziness has died down.

I got the urge to blog today because Emma has been in rare form lately. I'm sure every parent enjoys discovering the different gifts that their children have been given. Scott and I have recently stumbled upon Emma's gift to tell stories. Her story telling abilities are so finely tuned, you often wonder if the story is true. She told Scott the story about another kid bringing their pet monkey to school. She described the cage that it came in, and how it got out of the cage during nap time and all of the mischief that the monkey got into, including jumping on her (and Elle's) art! She has tons of believable details that did not change much as she recounted the story to me. It was so believable that Scott was asking me if there was really a monkey at school.

Last week I was duped by one of Emma's Stories. I was missing one of my FAVORITE earrings. She had bee up early the previous morning and was playing with my jewelry that I (not so smartly) remove next to the sink in the bathroom. I asked her if my earring could have possibly fallen down the sink after she played with it. She told me it did. I was pretty upset about losing it and went as far as to take the sink trap apart that night when I got home....No earring! I was going to replace it, but it was discontinued! But this morning I went to put on an orange scarf (that I have not worn in a long time) and hooked to the scarf was my missing earring!!!

Christmas and Family Pictures

We had the annual Christmas pictures taken of the girls. This year I decided to have a family picture taken too. I think they turned out pretty good. Don't worry, I did not spoil the surprise...The Christmas card picture has been left out of the post!

My new favorite thing to do...

So I try and just blog about the girls, and I promise to get some new pictures and things up this week since I turned in my last paper for the semester yesterday. But, I have had such a busy and ridiculously hard semester I had to make an effort to protect my sanity. Zumba is my new favorite thing to do. I actually did a lot of Zumba classes back in St. Paul before the girls were born (probably why they like loud music now). I think I did Zumba up until I was at least 6 months pregnant. Anyways, Joni, one of the many Zumba instructors in Stillwater that I enjoy, posts some of the routines on youtube. Here is one with both me and mom in it.

Elle and Emma meet President Obama

Ever since election time the girls have been obsessed with Barack Obama. EVERY time he is on TV, Elle gets real excited and starts yelling his name. One day we were talking about where President Obama lives and I told her that he lives in the White House. She quickly disagreed and told me that he lives in the TV. I tried to correct her, but she had a point. Last week she told me that she wanted to meet him. She had accepted the fact that he lives in Washington DC and now thinks that they should be friends.
On Saturday the girls went with Scott to "help" get ready for the Glencoe Ag Boosters Trophy Auction. They had silent auction items along with trophies. One of the silent auction items was a Barack Obama Mask. I was told that the girls played with the mask the entire time they were there. I bid on it at the trophy auction since it was not as big of a hit with the adult crowd...and we won it. Barack Obama lives at our house now!

Halloween Week!

We have been celebrating Halloween all week. The downtown festival was on Tuesday, we went to Kendra's Daycare party on Wednesday, and Trick or Treating on Thursday. I know Thursday was not Halloween, but in Stillwater, football is a priority! Whether it be Stillwater High School or OSU. Anyway, they dressed up for the fourth day in row this morning, and I decided to dress up too. Last Saturday when the girls an I were shopping for groceries at Wal-mart I ran across these amazing tights! I got a lot of comments on them today. Some people just smile, and others pretend not to stare. It is really funny. My students thought they were great...everyone else that did not know me did not know how to take them.
