We Look So Cute!

The girls just looked so cute this morning before we left for daycare, that I had to snap a picture! I told them to hold hands and pull their paci's! Click!

Want Some Apple Juice?

Elle was sharing some apple juice with her dad and they were both enjoying it. She was running back and forth to the closet where she was filling the cup. He asked her what her secret ingredient was and she said "PEE!" and then laughed hysterically! Apple juice with a spash of pee...yum! Just ask Scott! Emma decided to one up Elle and told her Dad that her secret ingredient was poop! Needless to say, Scott did not try her apple juice.

Who's your Favorite?

Logan has been working with Elle on answering the question "Who's your favorite?" He has taught her to say Logan, in her voice "Wogan". Saturday we were talking about Backyardigans, a very common topic at our house and I asked her who her favorite was, expecting her to say Pablo or Uniqua, she yelled "Wogan!"

Suckering Gram

We were in Wichita this weekend to attend a party at Abi's house, so the girls got some extra Gram and Papa time. For the record, Papa has made an attempt to change his name to Pops. I guess Emma or Emme inspired him! Gram, the Girls and I went to Super Target to get groceries. Gram had just picked up some pull-ups for the girls and was headed to the groceries section when Elle dramatically exclaimed "I love toys". It was obviously directed at her Gram. Hook, Line, Sinker....How do you say no to that! So Gram told her they would look at toys after they got the groceries! What a sucker!

Mama's Shoes

The girls have always liked to put our shoes on and try an walk around. But recently, they have actually been able to walk around in the shoes. The other day Elle and Emma each had a pair of my shoes on and they were walking in a circle saying"Walking in Mama's Shoes" over and over again. The part that amazed me was that the knew to add the ing to walk and they said "Walking IN Mama's Shoes". Pretty good comprehension of the English Language for their age!

Backyard Friends

We have a current crisis at our house. It is called Backyardigan Fever. It is very serious and the symptoms are feeling the need to watch or listen to the Backyardigans every second of the day. Also sometimes you see growths on the girls' arms that resemble Backyardigans plush 8" dolls. We get home from daycare and Elle requests the Backyardigans on TV. If I do not immeditaely respond she tries to clarify by telling me "Backyard Friends", like I did not understand her when se said "Backyardigans" the first time. The problem has even carried over to car rides, where they request the Backyardigans Music! I feel like we are apporaching an epidemic because Elle can tell me who is singing on the CD at any given time, and what the next song will be. I sit and try to think at work and hear the Backyardigans music, at least it is pretty good for kids music....and definatley beats crying or fighting.

Pants!

Tonight, after the girls' bath they did the Naked! Naked! ritual (see below for explaination) and then we put them in thier pj's. I thought we would try the nightgowns that their Aunty Abi gave them for Christmas since it has been staying fairly warm at night. We put the nightgown on Emma and she cried for her pants! We tried to explain that the nightgown was like a dress and there were no pants, who knows if she belived us, but she did quit crying.

Papa's House

My mom and dad are moving to Stillwater this summer, and we have been helping them look for houses. We go to open houses and preview them, and drive by different houses often to see if they have the mandatory East facing back patio. Needless to say the girls sort of understand. Last week we went home a differnt way and Elle said "Papa's house"? At first I thought she was asking if we were going to Wichita, but later I figured out she was asking if we were going to look at a house for Gram and Papa. I got a picture of her looking at houses for Papa in the Real Estate Weekly, funny thing is that she picked it up and immediately told me what she was doing! She showed me one she thought was a "Nice House"!

NAKED! NAKED!

My girls love taking a bath, but they love the time right after bath the best! They get out of the tub, dry off, and run in Elle's room in circles yelling "NAKED, NAKED!" It lasts as long as Scott and I can take it, depending on how late it is....Last night I tried to get Elle dressed and she was saying "No clothes! No clothes!" Hopefully, this favorite pastime is not a indication of future professions!

Potty Time!

We have been trying to get the girls interested in using the potties. I feel like it has been a very slow process. At times I wonder how much they understand. On Sunday, it was clear. They understand everything, they are just not wanting to do it!

Pig Roast

We went to the Construction Management Society Pig Roast this weekend it was at Lake Carl Blackwell, the girls had a good time mowing leaves, and taking a trip to see the water with their Daddy.

I am not even 2, but I want to change my name

Emma, who will be two in May, decided about a month ago that she wanted to change her name. I called her name and she corrected me. She would now like to go by Emmy. She typically will correct any mispronounciations. Funny thing is that I actually thought about naming her Emme, but her twin is named Elle pronounced L, and frankly I did not know how to pronounce Emme would it be M or Emmee? And if I was having trouble with it, what would the rest of the world do?

Get your heiny up!

Elle beat her dad out of bed on Friday, so I told her to tell her dad to get his heiny up. What I did not know was that he had gotten up and was trying to use the bathroom. She proceeded to barge in and push his cheeks up while he was using the bathroom. She said "Get heiny up!" as she was pushing up!

Baby Elle!

Elle was having a fit the other night when I was changing her diaper, so I asked my husband to put a baby bottle in her mouth since she was acting like a baby. She started laughing since she knew we were giving her a hard time. Later she was throwing another fit when I was trying to get her pj's on. Emma decided that she had the perfect fix...the bottle! Genius! It worked and Elle started laughing again! Leave it to a not quite 2 year old to make peace!
