Take it!

We ate at Rib Crib after the trip to the student union basement on Saturday. Elle and Emma were both fascinated with the cow skin bench that was in the waiting area. They were petting it and mooing when they saw it. But the best was as we were leaving. Emma went over to the bench and tried to pick it up. She said "take it" to Scott. He asked "where?" She said "take it home!" It was so funny. She thought it would look good on the front porch!

Family Birthday Party!

On Saturday we had a family birthday party for the girls. There were 20 family members at the party, including Great Grandma and Grandpa Herr and their Great Aunt Denise and Terry all the way from NE Kansas. We also had lots of family from Oklahoma including Grandma and Grandpa Yates, Aunt Tana, Cousins Reagan and Ryan, Cousins Lori, Kevin, Samantha, and Connor. Last but not least, Gram and Pops, uncle Wogan and Nate! The rain tried to hamper the fun, but everything worked out. They girls had an absolute free for all opening presents. They just kept opening and opening gifts so fast, we hardly were able to see the presents making thank-you notes about impossible! Sorry! The excitement continued much later than we imagined due to some severe weather that got a bit too close for comfort. We took a family trip to the basement of the OSU Student Union to get all the cars away from the threatening hail and tornado!

Bubbling Bouncing Backyardigans Party!

Party #1 was held on Friday, May 23rd. The girls invited their friends Ryan, Dylan, and Zane over for a Backyardigans party. We had pizza and they played outside on their new swingset, a bouncer the girls got for their birthday, and bubble machines! They had a great time! Here is a picture of the cake and a picture of the girls before the party!

We're 2!

The girls had their second birthday on May 23rd. They were very excited about it! When you ask them how old they are Emma usually says "3" and Elle usuallys says "I don't know" then after a pause she says "2!" The birthday was complete with 2 parties one for friends on Friday, and the family party on Saturday. Pictures from each will be posted soon!

Morning Walks

Well we stared walking in the morning this week. We went to the lake Monday and Tuesday, and due to the fear of rain we walked near the house yesterday. The girls have seemed to enjoy it, but our allergies have not. We decided to stay in today, since Emma and I are having major allergy issues. It really rained last night so hopefully it will help with some of the stuff in the air. This picture was taken a boomer lake after our 5K walk on Tuesday. We had played for a while on the toys, and were on our way to the bathroom. Even though Emma said she had to go, it sure took a while to make it to the bathroom! We picked a lot of flowers on the way!

Happy Birthday Wogan!

Yesterday was Logan's 22nd birthday. The girls were very excited about it. They woke him up with a Happy Birthday phone call (with my help). They have about perfected the Happy Birthday Song. You can definatley tell what they are singing. They even added the "WOGAN!" in the song. He came over for his favorite crock pot dinner pasta bake and a special desert topped with a 22! (I am planning on recycling the 2's next week!) The festivities carried on outside where the girls played on their swingset. The night ended with another round of Happy Birthday to Wogan, with the long watering attachments to the hose used as microphones! I'll try and get the picture that was taken by Logan's friend Katy of the serenade!

The Big Surprise!

This weekend the girls went to their Grandma and Grandpa Yates' so their Mommy and Daddy and Uncle Wogan could build a swingset for their birthday! We did not tell them what was going on, we wanted to see their reactions. When we drove up Emma saw it immediately and started getting excited. We told her that she had to change her clothes, so she ran in and got changed real fast. She needed to use the bathroom so bad that I could not get her jeans snapped, but she refused. Meanwhile Elle is plaing toys in the house until we showed her the swingset out the window. She then wanted changed too. Emma was the first outside and the first back in because she was so excited she peed her pants! They love it!

Emme's Proud Face

Emme decided to take interest in potty training last week. I have shown interest for the last month, but Emme finally decided she was ready on Thursday afternoon. She requested a Monster Truck Pull-up at daycare and kept it dry all day and night. I sent her back in the pull-up on Friday Morning. On Friday afternoon we were taking the girls to meet Grandma and Grandpa Yates, when Emme said "hold me mama" which had been the "i'm about to pee" clue. We stopped in Oklahoma City at a McDonalds and she peed. We got about 20 minutes from Chicasha when she had to pee again. I told her there was no where to stop (because her mom did not remember the little potty chair) she could either pee in her pull-up or hold it. She held it and peed when we got to the next McDonalds. Yesterday was the first day that she was home from thier big trip and she made it all day using the potty! She did not want to pee on Diego! (The character on her pull-ups). This is a picture of her with her proud face on and the Diego Pull-up that lasted all day! (I had to turn in black and white, so I would not get heat for getting her the boy pull-ups! They were the one's she wanted!)

Picking Flowers

I was expecting the girls and Scott to come right in the other night, and when they did not I went looking for them. When I saw what they were doing I had to run back into the camera! They were out in the field just south of our house picking flowers!

FFA Banquet

Tonight we went to the Glencoe FFA Banquet. The girls had a haircut from Mom Kim (Logan's Fraternity House Mom..hence the Mom Kim) and she put their hair up in pigtails. They wore their dresses and looked so cute, I snapped a few pictures of them when we got home. In order to get this picture I told them to put their heinies on the door!

Hey Batter Batter!

T-ball is one of our new favorite past times. It all started when Logan and his friend took the girls to an OSU baseball game. Before the game I taught the girls to say "Hey Batter, Batter..." So now when we get out the T-Ball set the girls chatter at each other, and even better they chatter at their dad! They even talked their uncle Logan into playing ball with them. The last time I saw Logan playing ball, I was yelling at him to pay attention and quit picking dandelions!

Winnie the Pooh Poo!

Elle still likes to be rocked before bed. She typically requests a song. For the longest time she wanted "Wittlest Worm" AKA "The Littlest Worm". It is a song I learned at girl scout camp that I have sung to the girls since they were little. I think I chose it because it was the longest song that I knew all of the words too. The past week she has been requesting "Winnie the Pooh", but today before nap she asked for "Winnie the Pooh Poo". It was a total mistake, but we both ended up laughing for a while about it. It has quickly become our little joke, and it is expected that I add the second poo in the song!

EEEWWWW!

Scott leaned over to kiss Elle and she would not let him, she just yelled "EEWW!". It was soo funny. He immediately grabbed her and started tickling her! It is so fun to give the girls a hard time, but it is even better when they poke fun at us, or each other. My brother's would not know what to do with themselves if I did not give them a hard time, right LALA and Navin?

Its Raining White Balls!

We have had more hail this year than Scott and I have seen in a long time. Thursday we had quarter to half-dollar diameter hail. The girls were really impressed with it. It hailed for a while, and then it was clear, so we let them go out in the yard and play with the white balls. They had a good time.
