Friday Fun!

We went to this place called the Youth Fitness Zone on Friday. It is a gym where they have gymnastics and cheer classes, and they also have open gym. The toddler/Pre-K kids can come at specific times, so we tried it out for the first time. The girls had a blast! They even made some new friends. Jordan is with Emma in the picture and Elle is with Peyton. The big girls were so helpful and nice to my girls. They showed them how to play on the equipment.

Slip and Slide......

Pops sent a gift to the girls this week. It is a slip'n'slide set up for racing. It has two slides right next to each other...Perfect for twins! We hooked it up Thursday night and the girls had a blast! They never really got the motion down, but they enjoyed being pulled down the slide. I guess we'll just have to have Uncle Wogan show them how. He only breaks the height and weight limits a bit.

The Big Bribe!

I was watching these special Little Mommy Babies at Walmart since Christmas. They started out at $55 each, far more than I am willing to spend on Babies. But, about 3 weeks ago (after the girls' birthday) they were $15.50 and I decided to buy them. They make over 80 baby sound, and respond to the name you give them along with lots of other stuff. I decided I would use them for bribery with the girls. Emma potty trained right before she was 2, but Elle showed no interest, until she saw the babies in the back of the car! I told her that her and sissy could get new babies once she was potty trained. It took another week and another baby sighting in the back of the car before she decided they were worth it. We started last Friday, and it was a bit rocky at first, but by Sunday, it was more my fault than hers when she had an accident because by the evening, I was not taking her to the bathroom enough. Now she is coming and telling us that she needs to go. They Found the babies again on Wednesday and we opened them up. Emma named hers Claire, but the baby did not understand it, so we went with Emme Claire. Elle named hers Ariel. They are very demanding babies..but their mommies love them.

Sorry... It's been a while

Well, I have and excuse for the lack of blogging lately. My new camera will not keep a charge, so I had to resort to the old one, that Scott had taken over. It was almost completely filled up with pictures, so I had to buy a new SD card too. Lame excuse, but who likes a blog about the girls without pictures...

Gram and Pops' House Hunt

Well since my parent's house has sold, and they are closing within the next 30 days or less, the hose hunt has gotten serious. The funny thing is how much the girls enjoy it. When we are on our way somewhere and they don't recognize where we are they ask, "Gram and Pops House?" Wondering if we are driving by houses for my parents. We often do drive bys to see of they would be interested. They also love going in them. I hopped out of the car to peek in some windows (don't worry Scott was driving) and Emma was furious because she wanted to go in! I think it is going to be a real let down when they actually find one because we won't be "going in" all of the time. Elle has coined the phrase "nice house" and uses it often.

The highlight of the house hunt for me was on Tuesday. We went to a neighborhood off of Range Road called Pecan Hill. We drove in, and on the corner was a man hitting baseballs to his boys. He was "naked" according to Elle and Emma who consider naked to be anyone without a shirt on. But don't worry, he was not your everyday 40 year old hairy beast who's chest hadn't seen sun in 3 years. He was "a man" who has publicly announced he's 40, and looks as if he bonds with his football players in the weight room. He was beautiful! Scott even agreed! I had to drive by twice and return a baseball that we found in the street, while Scott laughed. I think the house hunt is over in my mind. I vote for the Trenton house! It has a pool and eye candy as you enter the neighborhood!

I have a great idea!

We went to a swimming party tonight at Zane's House (a friend from daycare). W ehad a great time. They had two pools and the kids ran back and forth from each splashing and having a great time. We had dinner at Zane's (3.5 years) and while we were eating Zane announced that he had a great idea (more than a couple times). He wanted to put the slide into the pool. After we ate we headed back out to try out the great idea. It was a hit! It was great to have something that tired the girls out so much on a night that Scott was out of town. What can I come up with tomorrow?

Family Picnic

On Friday (of last week) we had a picnic lunch at Theta Pond. It is on the OSU campus and has a lot of OSU history and SHADE! I noticed all of the shade a few days prior and thought what a wonderful picnic spot. The girls and I packed a grand lunch of PB&J, Chips, Cookies and Fruit and loaded up the cooler and blanket. Logan and Scott met us there for lunch. It was lots of fun. The girls saw ducks, geese and fish. We'll try it again sometime.

Seeing Double!

As stated before, this last weekend we were in Blair. Scott and I took the time to go over to the house Marvin and Silvers Yates, Scott's Grandparents, used to share. It was pretty emotional to go over there and be in a house that used to be so full of life. The emotions caught us both a little off guard. While we were there we had the opportunity to pick out a few things to add to our home. One of the things we brought back with us was a mirror that was salvaged from the Yates Family farm house in Creta I believe. It is a big oval, and Mickey remembers Silvers taking the mirror to Oklahoma City to get it re-silvered. We also brought home a treasured library table from the same farmhouse that Mickey refinished for his mom. Elle has been quite inquisitive about the new pieces and so we had some pictures of Marvin and Silvers, and I told her that they were her Mamaws and pointed out Silvers. That was enough for her. Now she walks by the table and reminds us that it is Mamaws. The mirror was another source of fun. Before we could get it hung, we had it sitting propped up in the dining room. Emma walked by it a couple of days ago and she stopped and said ME! The girls had tons of fun looking at themselves in the mirror, and mom was just thankful that they were reflections and not quadruplets!

Yates Family Reunion

We went down to Blair, OK this weekend to celebrate the Yates Family Reunion. It was at the Quartz Mountain State Park which is north of Blair. It really is a beautiful area with mountains and a lake.

Actually, the first time that Scott took me home to meet his family I fell asleep on the way down there. When I woke up I completely freaked out! I saw mountains and thought he had drugged me and was taking me somewhere in Colorado. I was really mad for a while until he somehow convinced me that we were in southwest Oklahoma. I think it took getting out a map and showing me!

Anyway back to the reunion... The girls were really excited to play with their cousins Ryan and Reagan, and to see Aunt Tana, Grandma, and Grandpa (who they sometimes call Mickey). We had fun seeing family that we typically only see once a year, and eating the wonderful food.

One of the highlights for the girls was when the clowns brought little gifts for the kids. Emma was completely freaked out by the clowns, where Elle did not mind them. But, they brought them little bags with green tutus and dolls with the same tutus. The girls love them and wear them often as you will see.

The pictures are of the girls after a walk across the long bridge on Saturday Night. Cousin Ryan made it in one of the pictures too!

Fun in the Sun!

On Thursday we went over to Kendra's (their daycare provider for almost 2 years) and played with her two boys Ryan and Dylan. They had a water party. The pools were fun, but the cheap water guns were the life of the party.
