Christmas and Family Pictures

We had the annual Christmas pictures taken of the girls. This year I decided to have a family picture taken too. I think they turned out pretty good. Don't worry, I did not spoil the surprise...The Christmas card picture has been left out of the post!

My new favorite thing to do...

So I try and just blog about the girls, and I promise to get some new pictures and things up this week since I turned in my last paper for the semester yesterday. But, I have had such a busy and ridiculously hard semester I had to make an effort to protect my sanity. Zumba is my new favorite thing to do. I actually did a lot of Zumba classes back in St. Paul before the girls were born (probably why they like loud music now). I think I did Zumba up until I was at least 6 months pregnant. Anyways, Joni, one of the many Zumba instructors in Stillwater that I enjoy, posts some of the routines on youtube. Here is one with both me and mom in it.

Elle and Emma meet President Obama

Ever since election time the girls have been obsessed with Barack Obama. EVERY time he is on TV, Elle gets real excited and starts yelling his name. One day we were talking about where President Obama lives and I told her that he lives in the White House. She quickly disagreed and told me that he lives in the TV. I tried to correct her, but she had a point. Last week she told me that she wanted to meet him. She had accepted the fact that he lives in Washington DC and now thinks that they should be friends.
On Saturday the girls went with Scott to "help" get ready for the Glencoe Ag Boosters Trophy Auction. They had silent auction items along with trophies. One of the silent auction items was a Barack Obama Mask. I was told that the girls played with the mask the entire time they were there. I bid on it at the trophy auction since it was not as big of a hit with the adult crowd...and we won it. Barack Obama lives at our house now!

Halloween Week!

We have been celebrating Halloween all week. The downtown festival was on Tuesday, we went to Kendra's Daycare party on Wednesday, and Trick or Treating on Thursday. I know Thursday was not Halloween, but in Stillwater, football is a priority! Whether it be Stillwater High School or OSU. Anyway, they dressed up for the fourth day in row this morning, and I decided to dress up too. Last Saturday when the girls an I were shopping for groceries at Wal-mart I ran across these amazing tights! I got a lot of comments on them today. Some people just smile, and others pretend not to stare. It is really funny. My students thought they were great...everyone else that did not know me did not know how to take them.

Homecoming- Branded for Life

Well the biggest Homecoming celebration in the nation occurred almost two weeks ago. The house decorations were beautiful! The first two pictures are of my favorite one. It did not win, but it had a construction theme. Actually one of my students designed it. The pomping on the pictures and magazine cover were AMAZING!
The girls had more fun at the kids toys, than they did looking at the house decs. Elle really likes the inflatable toys. Emma not so much. I ended up having to go up the slide with her and hold her as we slid down. Why do I always get roped into the slides?

Catching Up...Cowgirl style!

Again I have been neglecting the blog since I am so busy, but I figure that is better than neglecting my children, my schoolwork, or my job. Scott cannot claim neglect since he has been gone far more days this month with Ag stuff than he has been home. Over the next few days (I hope) I plan on posting pictures from the last couple of weeks.

The girls had "Cowboy and Cowgirl" day at school on the 15th. They had a lot of input (more than I appreciated) on what a cowgirl should wear. This is what we came up with... I wanted them to wear dresses with boots, and I was informed that Cowgirls wear JEANS! (City Girl!)

Baking Cookies!

Last week, while Scott was at the Tulsa Fair, the girls and I worked on a project or two at the house. When I am gone, the girls are content watching TV with Scott, but when Scott is gone, they want to be entertained! We made Halloween Sugar Cookies. We had bats, ghosts, pumpkins and cats! I figured out a way to make the project last two nights! We made the cookies on Wednesday, and then iced just the ghosts. I had purchased white icing, but forgot that I did not have any food coloring, and Halloween bats, cats, and pumpkins are not white! We finished up the rest of the decorating on Thursday. The cookies were some of the best that I have ever made...if I do say so myself.

Going to the Fair!

Ever since Elle saw the Oklahoma "great state of a fair" commercial on TV she has been asking to go. Last Friday, I left after my last class and picked up the girls before nap at daycare. We loaded up and went to Glencoe to take 5 of Scott's students to the State Fair. Glencoe FFA was scheduled to work Agtropolis from 5-10 pm on Friday night. I thought it was a perfect opportunity to take the girls to the Fair and try and use a 20% off coupon at Kohl's.

Elle made it very clear to me that the most important thing at the fair was the Ferris Wheel. So once we got there, we did the Agtorpolis exhibit. The kids can go around and look at animals, kind of like a petting zoo, and be a farmer for a day. They had to put on an apron, plant seeds, pick apples and pumpkins. Get eggs from the chickens (they were fake) and dig up potatoes. They then traded the goods for money that they could spend at a general store. The girls really enjoyed it.

After Agtropolis, we made our way to the overpriced rides. We did 4 spins on the Ferris Wheel and made our way to Kiddie Land. The girls had a great time!

We hit Kohl's at about 8 pm right when the fair was getting packed!

Tailgating Round 2.....Ding!

The girls and I went to campus again to take part in the pre-game festivities. We missed "the walk" this week, but we did make it in time to get a picture with Bullet.

On our walk back from the Alumni Center we saw lots of people we knew. We saw some of our neighbors, Scott's Aunt Shonda and Uncle Paul, and Uncle Logan and Casey! The girls were feeling pretty important. Especially Elle because everyone was commenting on her hat!

Cowboy Football!

Well the OSU Football season started off with a bang! We did not attend the game, although we did take part in the pre-game festivities! "The Walk" was started by Les Miles when he was the OSU Football coach 8 or so years ago. Two hours before the game the players and coaches walk from the Student Union to the Football Field. It is like a parade with Pistol Pete and the band. This is the first time we have seen it and it was crazy! You can see all of the people lining the street.

The girls are patiently waiting for the parade!

Cousins Heath, Dawn, Maddie, and Caleb were here for the holiday weekend and took part in some of the fun. We loaned Maddie an OSU outfit so she would fit in! The girls look so cute together, they almost look like sisters! I love this picture with stadium in the background.

Scott snapped this picture of me and the girls all in matching....ORANGE!

Payne County Fair

Last week the girls (and I) survived with very limited daddy time. He was at the Payne County Fair all week. He would want me to clarify that he was there for the animals not the carnival.

They set up the rides on Tuesday, and we had to drive by them a minimum of twice a day. The girls wanted to go on the rides so bad! By Saturday evening, I gave in and took them. It amazes me the number of people that go to the fair and spend a boat load of money. Each ride took one ticket and each ticket was $3 or you could buy 10 for $25 or a bracelet (unlimited) for $20. We opted for the 10 tickets and I bought one extra so I could go on the ferris wheel with them. The girls had a great time. They were a bit overwhelmed with all of the people and tighlty held my hand. But overall they had a great time complete with that "pink stuff" (cotton candy).

Clown Car

So Gram and Pops made a new purchase recently. They bought a Mini Cooper Convertible. It is a ton of fun. The girls call it the Clown Car! They love riding in it, but sometimes there are arguments about whether the top should be up or down. Pops was taking the girls to pick up pizza a couple of weeks ago and Elle demanded that they all raise their arms and yell "We're Clowns" before they could back out of the garage. I wish I could have seen Pops! The girls like the car so much that Elle is convinced that they are getting that car when they can drive. She told Pops the other day that "He was giving her that Mini Cooper". When he resisted, she leaned over to me and whispered "I'll steal it!". It was funny! Even Logan loves the Mini! He tells me that it is a total chick magnet! Gram took some pictures of the girls in the Clown Car on Monday. ENJOY!

The Lost Summer Pictures....Birthday Party with Mari

We stayed with my best friend Abi and her family on our way up to my Grandma Swartz's 80th birthday party. The girls love getting to play with Mari. She is 10 and a half months younger, but is right in between them in size. She has some tall genes! Since the girls were not able to attened eachother's birthday parties, Mari suggested to have a party with cake for all of them. It was pretty fun! The girls sang Happy Birthday and blew out the candles like professionals!

The Lost Summer Pictures....Playing in the Water

Another fun thing the girls did in Blair over the Fourth Weekend was play with Grandma Judy's new water ball. I love some of the pictures! I have no idea why Elle has her mouth open in every picture. I assure you she was allowed to have a drink.
