Another Day Home.....

We all had the day off Wednesday too! Since the ice and snow finally stopped, we took the opportunity to play in the snow! It was not the best snow to play in because it was so dry. Scott tried to help the girls make a snowman, but the only way to make a ball was to use a snowball maker (thanks Judith). Scott also asked if they wanted to make snow angels. I think there is a Backyardigans episode where they make them , because Elle plopped down and started flapping her arms and legs, like she had made one before.

What do you do when you are iced in?

Well, it depends on if you are a superhero or not. We all had the day off on Tuesday due to the weather. Elle decided she needed a mask and a sash, and asked her dad to cut two holes in one of my Pilates bands to make a mask. He opted to save the band (good choice Scott) and use one of his old t-shirts to make the requested mask. She completed her superhero costume with a pink fuzzy sash (AKA Scarf). She wore the outfit all morning. It was pretty cute!

O S U Cowgirls!

We decided to take the girls to the OSU Girls Basketball game on Saturday. It was an experiment, and it worked! For the first half of the game, we sat in the student section behind the basket. The girls had a good time seeing everything close up. They enjoyed the cheers and seeing Pistol Pete. At halftime, we got some treats, and headed to the sparsely populated upper level. We were able to trap the girls in a row, but at the same time they had room to move. It was much cooler and less stressful for mom and dad.

Mama we're not dogs!

Last Thursday was beutiful weather. It was 75 degrees as I left the University. I was going to head to the gym, but I decided to run and get the girls and take them for a walk around Boomer Lake. We loaded up and went on our 3+ mile hike. It was a lot of fun, I forgot how much I enjoy that walk. The only problem was that the temperature dropped 15 degrees while we were walking. On our way home, Elle decided that she needed to go to the bathroom bad. The problem was that we were 5 miles from home. Thinking of myself, I told Elle that if she had to go really bad, she could go in the yard. She said..."mama we're not dogs" "Only dogs pee pee in the yard". Again called out by a 2-year old.

Gingerbread House

We made a Gingerbread house last week. I actually bought it a few weeks ago when they were calling for ice. I thought we might need something to do if we were stranded in the house. Well that never happened, but we made it anyway. I did all of the icing work with the girls giving me directions. They decorated the house. Emma did the left side, and Elle did the right side. I think it turned out pretty good. Who knows if I'll ever get away with throwing it out!

Enjoying Time with Uncle Nate

The girls really enjoyed having their Uncle Nate around over the holidays. They played and played everything from baby, to baseball, to swinging higher than they ever had before. I know it is going to be "swing me as high as Uncle Nate". Hopefully we can get Nate back to Stillwater before May!

Riding the Range

The girls got a horse from Grandma and Grandpa Mickey for Christmas. It has been a nice addition to our herd. The new horse is the kind with the springs, its name is Whiz. The rocking horse is named Pesky. Both are named after Scott's horses. I got this great idea that we could turn on the Backyardigans "Riding the Range" episode and the girls could ride with Tyrone, Uniqua, Tasha, and Pablo. They had a great time. THey even switched horses halfway through the show! YeeHaw!
