So much fun for $1.00! Flying kites!

I found kites for $1.00 at Wal-mart. Emma picked out a Barbie Kite and Elle wanted Elmo. I was unsure if the girls would be able to actually fly them. They had a great time in the backyard flying them. Elmo was a bit more cantankerous than Barbie. She flew like a dream and Elmo took a bit more work. He was pretty spastic. But what do you expect from a monster? Emma was really good a flying the kites. Elle was good at throwing them up again after the crashed into the ground. Emma go so good in fact, she started to multi-task! She is my kid!

Bunk Beds!

We decided it was finally time to get rid of the toddler beds. Emma is so tall, and sleeps so crazy that she was quickly outgrowing the baby
mattress. We have looked at tons of different styles. I really wanted the beds to look the same when disassembled. The ones that we ended up getting do not, but it actually has a trundle bed where you see the drawers. The top set of drawers are pretend, but the bottom set work. The girls decided that Elle would sleep on top and Emma would sleep on the bottom. But, Elle had a hard time getting up and down, so we have just been using the bottom bunk and the trundle. We moved the top bunk back into Emma's room, and we use it when we need it.

Pig Roast

On Easter weekend, the Construction Management student group had their annual Pig Roast. We took the girls out to Lake McMurtry, one of the 3 lakes close to the house. The setting was great! The girls had a good time playing with my students. Noelle and Casey were their favorites! They are living together next semester, and we already have plans to have a princess night one weekend when Scott is gone in the Fall!

My iEmma

Emma is so observant. About two weeks ago Emma was partaking in one of her (and the other girls in the houses') favorite pastime....watching American Idol. We were actually watching it in the morning before school. If I remember right it was the bribe to get them out of bed. Anyways, Emma was paying very close attention to the iphone commercial that demos all of the apps. She then turned to me and said "momma, you have an iphone!" Since I never called it that I was rather impressed that she figured out the name and recognized the phone from the commercial. Since she saw the commercial she was pretty sure she was an expert! She now asks to play with it. Last time I let her she figure out how to use the ipod portion! She was so excited when she saw David Cook on the screen. I will stop now as the story has come full circle.

Watch out! I found my camera cord!

So the lack of blogging had a lot to do with how busy I have been this semester (I just have one more paper to write!) and recently a little to do with misplacing the cord that links the computer to the camera. I apologize for the late pictures!

Here are pictures from the Egg Hunt at The Links. It lasted about 5 minutes, and Elle did not get any eggs officially. she cried the entire way to the car and got 6 pity eggs from other kids! Emma hates all adults in costumes, so she would not sit on the Easter Bunny's lap!

Watering the Garden

I got some awesome pictures tonight as the girls watered the garden. Scott did it the farmer way and made rows and valleys and all you have to do is leave the hose in each of the valleys for a little while. The girls took it upon themselves to "help". The had a great time making chocolate milk in the garden. I was so lucky to snap these pictures. I think they are some of the best pictures I have taken of the girls in a long time. If you are not into these black and white with the filter on it...let me know in the comments and I will add some color ones.

Dancing Queens!

The girls danced on Saturday and the Arts and Heritage Festival. It was a bit rainy but we made it without melting! The girls had a good time showing off their dance moves. Emma really has rhythm, Elle has spunk (that's what we'll call it). The both were so cute dancing on stage. They seemed to really like everyone watching them. They got to perform thier favorite "Hula Bula". In the song there is a part that says, "make a funny face", and Elle had a great one. She would open her mouth and stick 4 fingers in on each side to stretch it out, and then stick her tounge out and back in really fast....it was funny! I snapped a couple of pictures after the dancing. Notice the legwarmers! It was chilly, so I could not resist!

The Cutest Little Lovebirds!

This is a picture of Elle and her long-term boyfriend Jacob. They have been a item for about 8 months now. She has talked about him forever, but recently he has been talking about her at home. His mom Lori, who Elle says hi to every morning, recently stopped me to talk about their relationship. It was pretty funny. Luckily she is as humored by it as I am. He tells his mom how beautiful she is and how much he loves her and Elle. The girls and I actually met two of Jacob's brothers at Wal-mart on Saturday, and they knew about both of the girls from Jacob talking at home.

The first time I saw Jacob he was driving a tricycle with a carriage on the back....he was pulling Elle around the playground. I said hi to him yesterday and called him Jakie, like Elle. He corrected me, but let her get away with it! Too funny!

So many chairs... How to choose?

We went to Big Lots on Sunday to check out the chairs that they had in the ad. The girls tried out each "rocky chair". I took the picture with my phone and e-mailed it to Gram! The girls and I were trying to decide which one we liked the best. I love the flowers and the stripes, but I think the fabric is too light. One dirty shoe and it is over. I think if the girls get one, it will be one of the darker ones! The girls used a more "hands on" on approach to pick their favorite trying out each one!

Long time..no Blog..

So it has been a while since I blogged. I have been so busy, with work, school, the girls. I am actually blogging tonight to put off folding laundry. I took these picture of the girls in their Easter dresses with my iphone a week ago! I just love them! I really see the differences in their personalities in these pictures!
